This Week We are Leaning:
It's Literacy Week! Monday - Awesome Author Contest - Each class will choose a favorite author and create a poster about their author's books. Posterboard is now available for you to pick up in the media center. Posters are due at the end of next week, Friday 1-26. Cupcakes will be awarded to the class in each grade level with the winning poster.
Tuesday - World's Longest Human Bookworm - Every student and teacher in our school will read for 20 minutes while connecting together to form the world's longest human bookworm.
Wednesday - Tour the school to see our Teachers' Favorite Books. This one's easy. . . We are asking each teacher to display a favorite book or picture of your favorite book outside your classroom door. Then find a time to tour your students around the school to see each teacher's favorite book.
Thursday - Vivacious Vocabulary Dress-Up Day - Each student will select a vivacious vocabulary word to become a costume. Notes will be put in your mailboxes to send home.
Friday - The Best Book I've Read This Year Mini-Posters - Each student will complete a mini-poster and bring it in to the media center to receive a heart themed award. Mini-posters will be in your mailbox. Students can turn these in until Friday, 2-2.
Make sure you are practicing multiplication facts nightly! Your student should be getting close to mastery of all of the facts at this point in the year.
